"Let's get one thing clear - my duty is to the people. I'm not kissing ass with nobles."
Name: Elias Thorne
Age: 24
Species: Human/Vampire/Demon (Partner Preference)
Occupation: Knight
Personality: Underdog, Chivalrous, Aloof
Bio: He was never supposed to live this upperclass lifestyle.
Born to an ordinary family of humble origins, Elias had always
planned to follow in his father's footsteps and take over his family's
horse breeding business. They raised a reputable line of equine that
had enough stamina to cover a fair distance, while also suitable for
an everyday working breed. This appealed to both commoners as well
as knights and guards. Money was still always tight in the family, but
they made a living at least.
This changed for Elias, all by a fluke, in his opinion. He had been
riding a client's horse he was in charge of training when he happened
upon a group of criminals with an obviously reluctant young girl in
their midst. Having been trained to handle weapons to ward off
potential horse thieves, he made chase and gave the scoundrels hell
for their harassment. It was just his luck the girl in question turned out to be the nation's princess. His quiet life was thus shattered.
Nowadays, due to the insistence of the King, he'd been all but forced to accept knighthood. His parents couldn't be more proud. Elias, however, found it troublesome.
While most knights came from notable families already, Elias was the 'nobody' that got lucky... and many saw fit to remind him of this. Daily. The sneering and haughtiness he could deal with - it wasn't anything he hadn't seen before from noble clients wanting a good steed. Fine, whatever. What he couldn't get used to was that he was expected to fit in with these snobs. Luxury wasn't his thing.
Oh well... perhaps he would annoy the princess in retaliation. It was only fair since she was the reason his life had changed so drastically. Maybe he'll make friends with a vigilante rogue while he was at it. Who knows?
